Day 6: Safe Haven

DAY 5 of Jackunzel Week: It Takes Two to Tango

Jack Frost isn’t used to the brand new company; after all he’s been invisible for about 300 years. Sometimes… he says some irrational things that end up hurting said company’s feelings.

He used to enjoy how easily he won banters. How his remarks against Bunny made his chest swell with pride. How his sarcasm wavered even North (but Jack still refused to get on Sandy’s bad side). And Jack has never apologized — not even once — “I mean, talk about bursting one’s ego!”

But now … with Rapunzel — sweet, innocent, beautiful Rapunzel — with her big, forest-green eyes looking up at you like you were Pitch Black himself; and her quivering lips that utter your name in disbelief — because you were the last person in the world she had expected to hurt her, and yet you went and did it anyway. 

And what Jack said was kind of irrational. And he might’ve gone a little too far. And maybe, just maybe, he was going to apologize this one time. Just once. Maybe. Yeah.

Jack no longer takes pride in how easily he seems to push others away — how easily he pushed her away.

But he does take pride in the fact that he can always make her feel better.


DAY 2 of Jackunzel Week: Legend
A traditional story handed down from earlier times, popularly believed to be true.
Jack Frost sighed, and smiled sadly at the tattered book in his hands, “Oh, if only they knew.”
